Looking for a graduation research project? HC would like to help you with your research project by coaching and reviewing your thesis.

HC is the company of an independent project manager and consultant in the area of Information Risk Management and Process Improvement. He has more than 12 years experience in Information Risk Management, Project Management and Process Improvement and would like to share his knowledge with you.

Below you can find two problem descriptions that could be subject to your research project:
  1. Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a methodology to achieve process improvements by eliminating waste (=process steps that do not add value) and by improving the quality of process steps. LSS was originated from the industry sector and the logistic sector. Since some years LSS is introduced in the services sector as well.
    1. Question 1: Does Lean Six Sigma have the potential to become a promising method to be used in an Information Risk Management context? in contrast with other alternatives that are available? If so, why?
    2. Question 2: Is Lean Six Sigma suitable to be applied to Information Risk Management processes? If so, why and in what sense?
    3. Question 3: Which IRM processes are most likely to be object to LSS and why?

  2. What are the biggest challenges for Information Risk Management in the coming years? The Digital World and services will become more important, Internet communities will play a bigger role in social life. In contrast to Generation X, the Millenials (or Generation Y, persons from the age of 24), are mainly users (or consumers) of new technologies. They do not/less care about privacy, misuse of credit cards, etc.
    1. Question 1: Generation X does know about the technologies used and is interested in how things work and why it does work that way. Generation Y (the Millennials) just are consumers of these new technologies. They are not interested in how things like social communities, twitter, etc. work. They expect that new Technologies are always working and available. How are we going to make this user group aware of the risks that come with these new technologies and applications?
    2. Question 2: What measures can be thought of to prevent generation Y from identity fraud/theft? OR is identity theft not relevant anymore? Wat is the value of information? Or is all information available everywhere, every time, every place?
    3. Question 3: What role should be assigned to government? Shall the Government (still) play an active role in privacy and identity related activities or should it all be naturally regulated by the market?
    4. Question 4: Above mentioned questions could be researched from a specific industry sector Point of View or from a general PoV
