Capita: Knowledge integration modeling

This external project @Sciomino focuses on the integration (or enrichment) of knowledge management systems. Knowledge integration as a research field (e.g. http://doc.utwente.nl/51106/1/thesis_Kraaijenbrink.pdf) will result in some sort of generalizable knowledge attribute model, which is to be evaluated in a case study where Sciomino is to be integrated into a Sharepoint environment.

Microsoft Sharepoint contains user-profiles, 'Mysites', and activitystreams. Sciomino is people-directory focussed on knowledge sharing. Enterprises using Sharepoint are interested in using Sciomino as an 'add-on' to their existing (or new) Sharepoint implementation.
The only problem is: both products are competitive on the user-profile front. The solution might be that a sciomino-widget is offered to be used within Sharepoint. The widget might contain the skills & experiences of users, plus the statistical data in Sciomino (called insights) can be added.
Research has to be performed to find out what parts of Sciomino can be added to that widget, so that the functionality of both platforms is used most efficiently. Similar to the way Yammer has been able to leverage their functions with Sharepoint.
