About me

I am a PhD student at the University of Leiden since March 2018. I am part of Text Mining & Retrieval Leiden and of Data Science Research Programme – a collaboration of students from different faculties all working on data science. On a normal day, you can find me writing, scrubbing data, programming or thinking of creative solutions for my programming problems. My work mainly revolves around language: how can we make the computer ‘understand’ language so that we can extract knowledge? Although I initially studied Neuroscience, this project fits me perfectly. It allows me to combine my interest in data science with my wish to do research that can improve healthcare.
