Currently pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) and the Hybrid Intelligence Centre (HI) on Mining texts for perspectives in human-machine deliberation. Previously, I was a Master AI Student at the University of Amsterdam. Curious about everything AI, including Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning.
More information about HI can be found here.
At the moment, I am interested in finding underlying structures in debates and (mass) deliberation, with the idea that we can help participants to understand why others have a different opinion. For this, I am using computational linguistics to analyze natural language, and aim to create artificial agents that support human deliberation participants.
Before that, throughout my time at the UvA, I devoted quite some time into developing football playing robots in the Dutch Nao Team.
Besides my academia, I practise a Korean martial arts, called Haedong Kumdo Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu, combining traditional sword-fighting ⚔️ and archery 🏹.
