Time:   13.30 - 15.15

ECTS: 3

Description: The course Biological Data Sharing and Integration  will give an overview of important algorithms, tools and methods for the integration of the vast amounts of available biological (research) data. We start with an overview of the diverse biological data sets and the importance of integration for the search on knew knowledge and insights of biological processes. The amounts and complexity of biological data poses novel challenges for presenting and publishing research. Tools such as GALAXY and TAVERNA will be presented and used. Finally novel tools for organizing and searching the semantics of the data will be discussed.

Grading:

The course will be graded on the student's class participation, assignments, technical survey (4 pages), and presentations.
